The annual Festival of Lights celebrations in Northampton are organised by the Indian Hindu Welfare Organisation, with support from West Northants Council, Northampton Town Council and Northampton BID, and Festive Road was delighted to once again be a key partner for the Diwali Parade through the town on the 15th October.
Extremely high winds threatened to curtail participation in the parade but, thanks to a combination of the winds abating and the skill of our puppeteers, we were able to parade with our full complement of puppets.
In advance of the parade, we also ran workshops with a number of schools within the Northamptonshire area, as well as residents of St Crispins Retirement Village, making lanterns for them to take an active part in the parade and help to illuminate the route.
