The Giants are back!
Save 5th July 2015 to your diary...it's parade time again!
We've got giant puppets, a life size WW1 Tank, the Northants Hindu Association and their elephant Harminder, we've got the LOBO TREN samba street band, the MK DOHL players and the Wiltshire Magna Carta giant Queen all walking through the streets of central Milton Keynes. Who could resist a line up like that!
So put the date in the diary, put your dancing shoes on and come and see us at 1.30pm on 5th July 2015 for the start of the parade.
The Giants will gather at 12.30pm so come along and have your photograph taken with them. Meet Harminder the Elephant, George the Gorilla and Shirley our WW1 Life Size Replica Tank amongst others. There will be music to listen to and a buzz in the air before we start the parade at 1.30pm. Refreshments are available at the start and finish of the parade.
The Mayor of Milton Keynes to open the parade at 1.20pm on Midsummer Boulevard
The processional route will start at 1.30pm near The Hub on Midsummer Boulevard, through Midsummer Place, back onto Midsummer Boulevard, onto Marlborough Gate, onto Avery Boulevard and finishing on the Events Plateau at Campbell Park. There will be around 400 people taking part in the parade this year so make sure you come along to join in.
At Campbell Park there will be stalls and refreshments available. Westbury Arts Centre will be performing "The Dance of the Fallen" as part of the Great War MK project.
